Elys struggle with weight was deeply connected to emotional eating, inconsistent routines, and an all-or-nothing mindset. Growing up, weight was never an issue for her—she was active and naturally slim. However, after starting birth control (Nexplanon), she experienced significant hormonal changes and gained nearly 50 pounds over three years. Along with the weight gain came anxiety, insecurity, and a loss of self-confidence.
Her motivation to lose weight began with her mental health. She tried dieting, supplements, and quick fixes, but nothing truly worked until she was introduced to Wellness Mode. She still remembers sitting in the parking lot, debating whether to walk in—but choosing to do so changed her life. She lost 30 pounds in 10 weeks and, more importantly, learned how to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the past eight years.
This journey has taught her that weight loss is about far more than appearance. Eating well supports her mental, emotional, and physical health, helps manage anxiety, and allows her to break unhealthy patterns that runs in her family. Now, as a mother, her goal is to stay healthy, strong, and present for her child.
Working at Wellness Mode has shown her that everyone has a story behind their struggles. Healing your relationship with food isn’t about perfection—it’s about balance, self-love, and long-term wellness. She is grateful to support clients in a space where they feel understood, supported, and empowered.
